Bespoke Bathroom Renovation
This high-end bathroom renovation combines carefully planned electrical work with a clean, modern finish. The electrical installation was designed around both appearance and everyday usability, with particular attention given to concealed wiring, feature lighting and automated controls.
The finished bathroom features an illuminated LED mirror with built-in demister, underfloor heating, heated towel rails, custom-labelled controls, upgraded extraction, recessed power outlets and multiple layers of LED lighting. Small details, such as concealed cables and automatic low-level night lighting, help keep the finished space uncluttered while making the bathroom practical and comfortable to use.

LED Mirror & Custom Controls
The illuminated LED mirror forms a central feature above the double vanity and includes a built-in demister for a clear mirror after showers.
Minimalist recessed downlights above the vanity provide focused task lighting, while the main recessed light uses a directional surround to help control glare and place the light where it is needed.
Heated Towel Rail
The large heated towel rail was installed with the electrical connection completely concealed, avoiding visible cables and helping maintain the clean finish of the tiled wall.
A separate single-bar heated towel rail was also installed beside the shower using the same concealed-cable approach. Details like these require planning before the walls and tiles are finished, but make a significant difference to the appearance of the completed bathroom.
Two banks of switches provide control of the bathroom lighting, heating and ventilation, with custom-printed labels making each function easy to identify. A touchscreen controller operates the underfloor heating, while the extraction fan is controlled by a timed switch
Vanity Power & Electrical Details
Power was integrated into the vanity area without compromising the bathroom's minimalist design. Compact surface-mounted power outlets provide a distinctive alternative to a conventional wall socket and complement the carefully selected tapware and fittings.
Additional recessed power outlets were installed on either side of the vanity, along with a double power outlet concealed inside the vanity drawer. This provides a convenient charging location for electric toothbrushes and other bathroom appliances while keeping cords and chargers out of sight.
Illuminated Shower Niche
A warm LED strip was integrated into the recessed shower niche, creating both practical illumination and a subtle architectural lighting feature.
Positioning the lighting within the niche highlights the tiled recess without requiring another visible light fitting. The electrical installation was planned around the bathroom construction so the finished result remains clean, discreet and properly integrated into the shower design.
Freestanding Bath & Ambient Lighting
The freestanding bath is complemented by concealed LED feature lighting around the vanity and behind the bath. The indirect lighting washes across the surrounding surfaces rather than relying solely on overhead lighting, creating a softer atmosphere in the evening.
Combining task lighting, general lighting and concealed LED accent lighting allows the bathroom to change from a bright, functional space during the day to a much more relaxed environment at night.
Automatic Night Lighting
A discreet PIR sensor integrated into the switch controls automatic low-level night lighting. When someone enters the bathroom at night, the sensor activates a soft light without requiring the main bathroom lights to be switched on.
This provides enough illumination to comfortably use the bathroom at night without the glare of full overhead lighting. The system operates automatically and forms part of the wider lighting design, combining convenience, energy efficiency and a clean finished appearance.
